Welcome to Fifth Grade!

I am excited to have you as student in my fifth grade class at Paul J. Bellew Elementary School!  This is going to be a wonderful year.  There is so much to learn, and a lot of fun to be had! Can you believe this is your LAST year in elementary school?  Let’s make it a good one! 

I will be your "homeroom teacher."  I will teach you math, reading and social studies.  You will get to “switch classes” for two periods a day – science with Mrs. Stern and writing with Mrs. Davis.  This will prepare you for sixth grade!

To prepare for fifth grade, hopefully you have been reading some wonderful books and practicing your math facts.  You can use good, “old fashioned” flashcards or find an “app” to practice those facts.  Visit the wonderful West Islip Public Library to find some great chapter books to read!

You will see a tab up top of this site with the supply list for fifth grade.  Please do your best to have all the supplies on the first day of school! Be sure to follow the directions on the list to help organize your supplies.  When you click on the blue hyperlink, it will take you to the supply on Amazon!
